Getting Started

Follow these steps to connect your wallet and start using ChainPress on the Avalanche Fuji testnet.

Prerequisites

  • MetaMask or Core Wallet (Avalanche browser extension)
  • Testnet AVAX for gas fees — get free tokens from the Avalanche Faucet
  • NEWS tokens — the platform token used for staking, fees, and curation

1. Connect Your Wallet

  1. Click Connect Wallet in the top-right corner of any page
  2. Select MetaMask, WalletConnect, or your preferred wallet
  3. Switch to the Avalanche Fuji Testnet (chainId 43113)
  4. Once connected, your address appears in the header with a green checkmark

The app enforces the Fuji testnet. If you're on the wrong network, you'll be prompted to switch automatically.

2. Get Testnet AVAX

You need testnet AVAX to pay for gas on every on-chain transaction (submitting PRs, voting, staking). Get free testnet AVAX from the official faucet:

core.app/tools/testnet-faucet

  • Connect your wallet to the faucet site
  • Request testnet AVAX (daily limit applies)
  • Switch your wallet to Fuji testnet if needed

3. Acquire NEWS Tokens

NEWS is the platform token used for staking, submission fees, and curation rewards. On the testnet, you can acquire NEWS tokens from the platform owner or through the Dashboard.

Once you have NEWS tokens in your wallet, you can:

  • Submit press releases (requires staking NEWS)
  • Stake NEWS to earn staking rewards
  • Apply as Curator (requires a 500 NEWS stake)
  • Vote on press release curation

4. Check Your Dashboard

After connecting your wallet and acquiring tokens, go to the Dashboard to see your balances, manage stakes, and track your press releases.
